To live would be an awfully big adventure.

2011 Literary Adventures.

I’m bummed that I’m about to fall one book shy of my 30 book goal for the year, but that’s how it goes.

This was a good year for reading since I gave up cable and mostly internet. I spent lots of days at home reading with coffee, in coffee shops, or at the pool with a book in hand. There was also plenty of time on a train or plane for reading to be fit in. So here’s the list!

  1. Out of the Silent Planet by CS Lewis
  2. A Circle of Quiet by Madeleine L’Engle
  3. A Wedding in December by Anita Shreve
  4. The Dive from Clausen’s Pier by Ann Packer
  5. The Last Battle by CS Lewis
  6. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
  7. Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey
  8. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
  9. Living Dead  by Charlaine Harris
  10. Club Dead  by Charlaine Harris
  11. Dead to the World  by Charlaine Harris
  12. Dead as a Doornail  by Charlaine Harris
  13. The Small Rain by Madeleine L’Engle
  14. Definitely Dead  by Charlaine Harris
  15. All Together Dead  by Charlaine Harris
  16. From Dead to Worse  by Charlaine Harris
  17. Dead and Gone  by Charlaine Harris
  18. Dead in the Family  by Charlaine Harris
  19. Dead Reckoning  by Charlaine Harris
  20. A Severed Wasp by Madeleine L’Engle
  21. Sleep Toward Heaven by Eyre Ward
  22. Into Thin Air by John Krakauer
  23. The Summer of the Great Grandmother by Madeleine L’Engle
  24. Love Wins by Rob Bell
  25. A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
  26. The Journey by Adam Hamilton
  27. A Wind at the Door by Madeleine L’Engle
  28. Follow Me to Freedom: Leading as an Ordinary Radical by Claiborne and Perkins
  29. A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L’Engle

So that’s it. Some spiritual books, some children’s fiction that I wanted to catch up on, some adventure, some popcorn books, and lots of my favorite authors. It was a good year to be a book worm.
